Youth & Family Ministry Philosophy
Evangelical Community Church recognizes that it is the parents who are chiefly responsible for raising their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. As parents strive to effectively disciple their children in the Christian faith, we seek to come along side, equipping them for the task, and standing strong with them in a culture that is increasingly hostile to the Biblical vision for our children. Our role is to complement the parent’s teaching as their children become mature believers in Jesus Christ, bearing the fruit of the Spirit, to the end that they will be compelled to reach out to their non-Christian friends with the good news of the Gospel.

Job Overview
The Director of Youth & Family Ministry will demonstrate a strong commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord while developing and implementing a family oriented youth ministry, which is consistent with Evangelical Community Church’s Reformed view of Scripture. In addition to helping equip families to teach and train their youth in matters of the Christian faith, emphasis should be given to helping the youth develop a Biblical world view such that the precepts and principles taught in Scripture are integrated into their daily life in thought, word and deed.

In addition to responsibilities of the youth and family ministry, the Director of Youth & Family Ministry will be required to spend approximately 20% percent of the time assisting the pastor in general pastoral duties.

The Director of Youth & Family Ministry is responsible for youth in grades seven through twelve.
