In Joyful Noise, our goal is for children ages 4-12 to learn that they are always participants in worship, whether they are part of the congregation or up front in the choir leading worship. Their audience is God, not the people sitting in the congregation!
We meet on Sunday evenings from 6:00-7:30 pm, at the same time as our Youth groups. During a typical evening, there will be a short opening time of singing and learning about hymns or songs, often together with the youth, followed by choir practice, handbell practice for older children and a Bible lesson. The Bible lessons focus on helping the children to learn more about the God whom we worship. Each year we focus on a topic, such as The First Catechism, learning about the elements of worship, the attributes of God, or the seasons of the church calendar. During the year, the choirs will participate in worship regularly, as well as on special occasions such as Reformation Sunday, the Christmas Cantata, Palm Sunday and Easter.
