Why have a music school at church?
“...ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.”
Psalm 29:1-2

We think this Psalm applies equally to adults and children. Children can learn how to worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness, which includes making music to honor Him, as well as understanding why it is we worship Him.
What makes ECC’s Music School unique is that we teach music skills in the context of worship. Each week the children will have a Bible lesson that brings to light God’s character and holiness. They can then offer their music to God in a way that brings Him glory. We want to do all of this with excellence, using the gifts God has given each of us to the best of our abilities.
How old do my children need to be to come?
Children from age 4 through 12 (6th grade) are welcome at Music School. Classes are divided up by age—4-6-year-olds and 7-12-year-olds. We have nursery care available on a limited basis, with a rotation of parents caring for children.
What will the children do at Music School?
All of the children will participate in Children’s Choir, basic music theory training and a Bible Lesson. The 7-12-year-olds will also participate in our children’s handbell choir.
All of the children will also have a snack.

Listen to our handbell choir here.
How often will they participate
in Worship?
Children will sing and ring at least
twice a semester.
