A Satanic Madman?
Mark 3:20-35
February 9, 2014

I. Jesus accused of being out of His mind. Mark 3:20-22

II. Jesus accused of being in league with the devil. Mark 3:22

III. Why would Satan oppose his own forces? Mark 3:23-27

IV. A grave warning: the unforgivable sin. Mark 3:28-30

V. The nature of Jesus’ true family. Mark 3:31-35

Questions for Reflection:
• Why can’t a person conclude that Jesus was merely a good teacher or prophet?
• In His analogy concerning the binding of the ‘strong man,’ what role does Jesus assume for Himself? How might this have application for us today?
• What is the unpardonable sin?
• Why is part of what Jesus said about the unpardonable sin of great encouragement?
• Who does Jesus say are His true “brother and sister and mother?” How might this statement shape our personal sense of identity?
