February 23, 2014

Introduction

I. What is secret will be made known. Mark 4:21-22

III. God grows the kingdom—over time. Mark 4:26-29

IV. Small beginnings lead to significant ends. Mark 4:30-32

Questions for Reflection:
• Is Christ, ‘the lamp’, being eclipsed today even among Christians? If so, what is getting in the way of our seeing Christ clearly?
• What does Jesus mean when He says, “For to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.”?
• Often when the Bible tells us to “live by faith” we want to “live by sight.” How might the parable of the growing seed convict us on this point?
• Knowing that God promises to successfully grow His kingdom over time, how might this combat our own anxiety concerning the condition of spirituality and of the church today?
• Give an example from church history or even your personal life of how a small or insignificant event grew to be something spiritually significant in the Kingdom of Heaven.
