April 6, 2014 Preacher: Rich Lanning Series: The Gospel of Mark

Scripture: Mark 6:7–6:13

The Sending of the Twelve
Mark 6:7-13
April 6, 2014

Introduction

I. Sent out two by two. Mark 6:7

II. They were to travel light. Mark 6:8-9

III. They were not to treat rejection lightly. Mark 6:10-11

IV. Sent to deliver a message and demonstrate mercy. Mark 6:12-13

Questions for reflection:
• If the support and encouragement of other Christians is so important, what is it that gets in the way of cultivating that support?
• Traveling light meant trusting in God to provide. Where should we be stepping out in faith more as a church or as individuals?
• Why do you think Jesus wanted the disciples to shake the dust off their feet?
• What does it mean to repent? How should we apply that message to our own lives?
How do we communicate that message to others in our time?
