      A. Context: Some were denying the bodily resurrection of believers.

I. If Christ was not raised then: 1 Corinthians 15:12-19

      A. Your faith is in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:14; John 2:18-21; Romans 1:3-4

      B. We are false witnesses. 1 Corinthians 15:15

      C. You are still in your sins and the dead are condemned.  1 Corinthians 15:17-18

      D. We who believe are to be pitied. 1 Corinthians 15:19

II. But Christ has been raised as our representative. 1 Corinthians 15:20-22

III. A preview of things to come. 1 Corinthians 15:23-28

• Why is it fatal to Christian faith to deny the resurrection of Christ?
• Why is the resurrection so important?
• How does the resurrection of Jesus serve as a paradigm for what is to come?
• Can you think of examples of how the biblical idea of a resurrection has permeated our culture?
