II. A woman’s extravagant act of devotion. Mark 14:3–9
A. An extremely costly gift. Mark 14:3–5
B. But what about the poor? Mark 14:5, 7
C. Her action serves to prepare Jesus’ body for burial. Mark 14:8
D. This woman serves as a model of the high calling to follow Jesus. Mark 14:6, 9

- In what ways would this woman’s act be extremely costly for her, requiring courage and faith?
- Can you think of other examples of Christians who have shown similar kinds of costly sacrifices for the sake of Christ?
