Who Am I? Made in God’s Image Pt. 2
Genesis 1:26–28
February 21, 2016

I. We are called to “image” or reflect God to the rest of creation. Genesis 1:26–28

II. We mirror God in the context of relationships. Genesis 1:26–27

III. The image of God has been inverted through sin and idolatry. Romans 1:21–23; Psalm 115:4–8

IV. The image is restored through faith in Christ and what He has done. Romans 5:1

V. The image is being restored over time as we follow Christ. 2 Corinthians 3:18; John 14:8–9; Romans 12:2

Questions for reflection:

  • How does the image of God inform us about our purpose in life?
  • How are we designed to live in community and how do those relationships shape us?
  • How does idolatry invert our ability to “image” God?
  • What is the key to the image of God being progressively formed in us?
