Absolute Power

July 19, 2020 Preacher: Rich Lanning Series: 1 Kings

Scripture: 1 Kings 21:1–21:29

Absolute Power
1 Kings 21:1-29
July 19, 2020

Introduction:

I. A terrible injustice. 1 Kings 21-1-16.

II. God sees and God judges. 1 Kings 21:17-24.

III. God gives grace to the humble. 1 Kings 27-29.

Questions for reflection:

  • Even though he was a king, Ahab was discontented with what he had. What about
you? Does 1 Timothy 6:6,"...godliness with contentment is great gain" describe you?

  • God says, "Vengeance is mine" (Romans 12:19). Have you learned, when wronged, to leave vengeance with God?

  • How can we, as Christian believers, be an effective, prophetic witness (like Elijah) to an unbelieving secular culture?
