Introduction:

     I.   The priority of prayer.
           A.  Negligence in prayer is a great source of disunity. James 4:1-2.

 

           B.  Prayer is a critical mark of a true Christian. Luke 18:7; Romans 8:15.

 

           C.  The Bible is unrelenting in its exhortation to pray. Jeremiah 33:3;
                Matthew 7:7-8, 21:22; John 14:13-14; Colossians 4:2; Thessalonians  5:17.

 

           D.  Prayer is the single most important step toward well-being and 
                contentment. Psalm 50:15, 55:22; Phiippians 4:6-7; James 1:5.

 

 

II.       Practical thoughts about prayer.

          A,  It is okay to struggle in prayer. Romans 8:26; Colossians 4:12.

          B.  Avoid mindless praying. Matthew 6:6-7.

          C.  Air to pray in private daily. Luke 18:7

          D.  Pray with faith. Mark 11:24; 1 John 5:14; Philippians 4:19.

          E.  Be thankful. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.
