God Glorified through Ordinary People
1 Corinthians 1:18-29
November 15, 2020
Pastor Rich Lanning

I.   God often chooses those who are ordinary and weak to accomplish His purpose.
     I Corinthians 1:26-28.

II.  God being glorified through the weakness of individuals is a repeated theme.

      A.  Noah:

      B.  Abraham and Sarah:

      C.  Gideon:

      D.  David:

      E. The disciples:

      F.  Paul

III. What does this mean for us?

      A.  If you are weak and imperfect, you are a candidate to be used by God!

      B.  There is no room for boasting. I Corinthians 1:29.

Questions for reflection:

  • How is God glorified in and through ordinary, imperfect people?
  • Why are we so hesitant to let others see our flaws? Are these good reasons?
  • How might our weaknesses and imperfections be an encouragement to others?
