Youth Ministry Overview
We take seriously the commands of Scripture to pass on the Word of God to our children (Deut 6:6–7) and to bring up our children “in the discipline and instruction of the Lord” (Eph 6:4). We understand that the Great Commission (Matt 28:18–20) begins at home. Our foundational assumption is that parents have the primary responsibility for the discipleship of their teenagers.
Thus, we aim to partner with the families of our church for our teens' development of godly character, right doctrine, and a Christian worldview. We do this through regular opportunities for fellowship, teaching, and service.
Our teenagers are every bit a part of Christ's body as the adults of the church. We want to see them integrated into its worship, discipleship, and ministry, so that when they leave our walls they leave not as alumni of a youth program but as followers of Christ linked to the one holy, apostolic, universal Church.
Junior High activities are for 7th and 8th graders, and Senior High includes students in grades 9–12. Friends are always welcome!
Youth Sunday School – Meets Sunday mornings, 9:15–10:15 a.m. Junior High meets in room 106 and Senior High meets in the modular classroom behind the main church building.
Youth Group – Meets Sunday evenings, 4–5:30 p.m. (September–April) and 7:00–9:00 p.m. (June–August) at the church office.
ECC youth have the opportunity to serve in a local ministry or in the community about once per month.
Senior High Trips
Annual Mission Trip
The youth ministry places a high priority on short-term missions for our high schoolers. Every summer we will participate in a mission trip that is sponsored by the EPC (Evangelical Presbyterian Church) or another trusted organization.
We travel to the Reformed Youth Ministries conference every four years to give every Senior High student the opportunity to attend once during high school. This energizing conference is Word-driven, God-centered, and Gospel-focused, directing students to develop a passion for Christ.
Junior High students come camp out on our gorgeous property once a year. We share meals, serve others around the community, and get to know one another through games and Bible studies. Resident Camp is partially supervised by our rising 11th- and 12th-grade Senior High students.
We hold a number of other events each year, including progressive dinners, laser tag outings, retreats, and more! Check out the church calendar for the latest Youth Ministry events.
